The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has visited the Akosombo Substation to assess ongoing restoration efforts following a recent fire outbreak.
The incident resulted in the loss of over 1,000 megawatts of power to the national grid, significantly affecting electricity supply.
During the visit, the Minister engaged with engineers and technical teams who have been working under intense and demanding conditions to restore operations.

He commended the team for their unwavering commitment and courage in the face of the crisis, describing their efforts as “a strong sense of duty are truly inspiring, and they continue to demonstrate the highest standards of service to our nation.”
Mr. Jinapor also assured the teams of the government’s full support as restoration work continues.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a more resilient power system, ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply across the country.
“To the general public, I assure you that we are doing everything within our power to ensure that stable electricity supply is restored as quickly as possible,” Mr. Jinapor said.
