The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has formally established an Ethics and Admissions Committee for the AfCFTA Professional Course, acting on resolutions passed at its 9th Annual Congress held in Accra in November 2025.
This initiative aims to expand the study of the AfCFTA Curriculum to encompass professionals and practitioners across Ghana and the broader African continent under the GITFiC-AfCFTA Professional Course, which includes Pre-Tertiary, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate levels from all sectors.
According to the statement, the Committee will develop and submit an AfCFTA Curriculum specifically tailored for Africa's High School structure, ensuring it runs concurrently with the existing AfCFTA Curriculum for Africa's Tertiary Institutions.
In compliance with these mandates under the GITFiC Agenda 2031, GITFiC has constituted the Ethics and Admissions Committee with the authority to enforce strict adherence to the AfCFTA Professional Course regulations, thereby safeguarding academic standards and the welfare of students and facilitators.
Dr. Michael Kusi-Appiah from the National Development Planning Commission will serve as the Chair of this Committee.
Other members include Dr. Samuel Antwi from the Information Service Department, currently under the Office of the President, and Madam Patience Arko-Boham from the Ministry of Finance.
The statement released on Monday, February 23, 2026, reaffirmed that their appointments take effect immediately.
