Ghanaian traders injured in Burkina Faso attack evacuated to Accra

Three Ghanaian traders who were wounded in a terrorist assault in Burkina Faso on Saturday, February 14, 2026 were successfully evacuated by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The evacuation took place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the GAF said in a statement. The operation formed part of the government’s coordinated humanitarian and security response.

The injured survivors have been transferred to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical assessment and treatment.

GAF expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead, and wished the injured a swift recovery.

The survivors are among a group of tomato traders who were caught up in the attack on Saturday, February 14.

Seven people have been confirmed dead, while others who fled the scene remain unaccounted for.
