The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to hold a National Thanksgiving Service in celebration of the peaceful and successful presidential primary that elected H.E. Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate.
In a special invitation, the leadership of the NPP extended a warm call to members, supporters, sympathisers, and the general public to join in expressing gratitude to Almighty God.
The service will be held under the theme: “Offer to God Thanksgiving” – Psalm 50:14.
The first event will be an Islamic Thanksgiving Service, scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, at the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra. The service will commence at 12:00 PM and will bring together Muslim leaders, party members, and supporters in prayer and thanksgiving.
This will be followed by an Interdenominational Church Service on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the UPSA Auditorium. This service, also starting at 12:00 PM, aims to unite Christian clergy, party faithful, and the wider public in worship and thanksgiving.
According to the party, the National Thanksgiving Service is expected to be graced by the Party’s Presidential Candidate, former Presidents, Christian and Muslim clergy, and party leaders.
Current and former Members of Parliament, former Ministers, former CEOs/MDs, MMDCEs, and other former government appointees are also anticipated to be in attendance.
