DCE orders legal action against his own assembly over refuse dumping

By: Emmanuel Bekoe

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa Central, Hon. Hackman Kwabena Aidoo, has directed legal action against his own Assembly over improper refuse dumping behind its office premises.

The directive was issued during the General Assembly Meeting held at Gomoa Afransi, where the DCE insisted that environmental laws must be enforced fairly, regardless of whether the offender is a public institution or an individual.

Hon. Hackman Kwabena Aidoo said the Assembly must lead by example in promoting proper sanitation and cannot exempt itself from the same regulations it is mandated to enforce within the district.

Speaking to Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare, the DCE described the national sanitation exercise as a major priority of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration and called on institutions and residents to actively support efforts to improve environmental cleanliness.

He stressed that maintaining a clean environment requires collective responsibility and urged residents to adopt proper waste disposal practices to protect public health and the environment.

The DCE further called on all stakeholders in Gomoa Central to support sanitation initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental health regulations across the district.
