Ghana Armed Forces to roll out “Exercise Storm Shield 2026” to boost security readiness in Bono, Upper East Region

The Ghana Armed Forces has announced a major joint military, Exercise Storm Shield 2026, set to take place across the Bono and Upper East Regions from Sunday, May 10 to Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

The exercise, involving the Ghana Army, Ghana Navy, and Ghana Air Force, forms part of efforts to strengthen internal security operations within the surrounding areas. 

In a statement, GAF described the exercise as an internal Counter-Insurgency Ficki Training aimed at enhancing rapid response capability of troops to address contemporary security threats.

According to the statement, GAF explained that residents in the two regions may observe increased military activities throughout the period. 

However, the Armed Forces urged the public to remain calm and go about their normal daily routines.

The Ghana Armed Forces assured it commitment to safeguarding the territorial integrity, peace and security of our dear nation.
