Fisheries Minister embarks on six-day tour of inland fishing communities

The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emelia Arthur, has announced a six-day working tour of inland fisheries communities commencing on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

In a statement, the Minister will visit selected communities including the Volta, Oti, Bono East, Savanna, and Ashanti Regions to inspect infrastructure, interact with fishers, and participate in a planning session in Techiman.

The Ministry said that the exercise is intended to strengthen engagement with stakeholders, assess key facilities, and obtain firsthand information on the state of the inland fisheries subsector.

They assured its commitment to ensuring that policies are informed by the experiences and needs of inland fishing communities, encouraging stakeholders to be involved in the engagement.
