A new survey by Prof. Smart Sarpong, Head of Social Science Research at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), projects John Boadu, Justin Frimpong Kodua, Titus Glover and Mavis Hawa Koomson ahead in key NPP national officer contests.

The Political Environment Assessment Survey 2026, conducted from September 10 to 28, involved 9,882 respondents, comprising 5,276 NPP delegates and 4,606 stakeholders.

The study covered 156 constituencies across 14 regions and assessed the outlook for the New Patriotic Party’s national officer elections.

According to the findings, John Boadu leads the National Chairman contest with 47.9% among NPP delegates and 46.5% among all respondents.

Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) leads the First National Vice Chairman contest with 41.1% among delegates and 37.6% among all respondents. The survey identifies Mustapha Abdul-Hameed, Kojo Fosu Boadu and Nana Akomea as contenders for the remaining two positions.

For National General Secretary, Lawyer Justine Frimpong Kodua (JFK) records 60.0% among delegates and 56.0% among all respondents, while Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover (MP3) leads the National Organiser race with 48.7% and 47.4%, respectively.

Mavis Hawa Koomson leads the National Women’s Organiser contest with 56.6% among delegates and 50.1% among all respondents.

The National Youth Organiser race appears more closely contested, with Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyemfi recording 24.4% among NPP delegates and 25.9% among all respondents. The survey places Abanga Fuseini Yakubu about six percentage points behind, while 15% remains undisclosed, a figure the researchers say could alter the current outlook.

In the National Nasara Organiser contest, Awal Mohamed leads with 30.0% among delegates and 28.7% among all respondents. The survey also records an undisclosed 26.2%, leaving room for movement in the contest.

The National Treasurer race remains without a clear leader, according to the findings. Alfred Kojo Thompson has a marginal lead with 29.8% of delegates’ support, followed by Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah with 25.9%, while 26.8% remains undisclosed.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) national executive elections are scheduled to take place on October 3, 2026, when delegates will elect the party’s national officers.
