The Convention People's Party (CPP) has proclaimed February 24 as a Day of Unity and Reconciliation, marking sixty years since the 1966 coup.
In a statement released on Thursday, February 5, the party expressed gratitude to the media for their ongoing support, publicity, and prominence afforded to the CPP.
"As we gear up to reflect on the destabilising occurrences 60 years ago, the CPP has declared 24th February 2026 as CPP Day of Unity and Reconciliation," it stated.
The party reassured the general public that its doors remain open to all members of the CPP Communications Directorate and National Leadership, as well as all CPP members and Nkrumaists.
Furthermore, the CPP aims to propagate its positive contributions, encouraging members to share modern, relevant ideas inspired by the ideals and successes of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, thereby enriching the national discourse.
This statement was released and signed by Comrade Wing Commander Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor (Chairperson & Leader).
