The Ghana Education Service (GES) has invited the leadership of the major education sector unions to a meeting to resolve concerns surrounding the ongoing job-evaluation exercise.
In a statement, GES said it will collaborate with the Public Services Commission (PSC) and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).
According to an official letter dated June 12, 2026, the invitation was extended to the national presidents of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), the Pre‑Tertiary Teachers Association of Ghana (PRETAG) and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU).
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, 15 June 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Director‑General’s Conference Room at GES headquarters in Accra.
The main agenda is to address and resolve the impasse over the request for the submission of staff personal files as part of the job‑evaluation exercise.
The issue has generated discussion and concern among education-sector stakeholders, making the meeting an important step toward finding a common understanding and a way forward.
The invitation was signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Deputy Director‑General (Management Services), on behalf of the Director‑General of GES.
GES said copies of the letter were also forwarded to key officials, including the Minister for Education, the Deputy Minister for Education, officials of the Public Services Commission, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and senior management members of GES.
Education stakeholders are urged to closely monitor the outcome of the meeting, as its resolutions could have important implications for teachers and educational workers across the country.
