Mr. Kirk-Mensah extended appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, as well as party communications leadership and management of Sankofa Gold Mines, for supporting the appointment.
He further acknowledged the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Alhaji Dauda, for the opportunity granted to the NDC communicator.
He said the development signals growing trust in young professionals within both political and corporate communication spaces.
Mr. Kirk-Mensah described himself as “a happy man” following the announcement and wished Mr. Essien success in his new role.
He urged him to uphold professionalism, discipline, and excellence in delivering his mandate at the mining company.
