The Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, has reiterated her commitment to improving teacher accommodation and motivation across her constituency.
Speaking at a workshop organised in collaboration with the International Community for Learning and Social Spectrum (ICLASS), she emphasised that the workshop aimed to equip teachers in the constituency with skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
She stressed that such capacity-building initiatives are essential to prepare educators to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world, adding that training alone is not enough.
She further revealed plans to complete abandoned teacher bungalow projects in the constituency, noting that decent housing remains a key factor in teacher retention and motivation.
“While we are equipping our teachers with modern skills, it is equally important to provide them with the right environment to apply this knowledge.
“This includes improving school infrastructure, renovating existing facilities, and ensuring adequate accommodation for teachers," she stated.
The Awutu Senya West District Chief Executive (DCE), Kalala Hagan, also encouraged teachers to embrace technological advancements, particularly AI.
“We are in a new era where technology is transforming every sector, including education.
"I urge all teachers to take advantage of these tools to improve their work and impact students positively,” he said.
An Educational Psychologist and Learning Strategist, Miss Marian Benewaa Babah-Alargi, also urged teachers to desist from discrimination among students, explaining that every child has his or her own special abilities.
