Popular Kwame Nkrumah Circle phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, also known as Terry or Dinero, has reportedly been found dead after disappearing in Accra.
Nana Yaw reportedly travelled to Teshie to meet a lady he had been communicating with for several weeks before his disappearance.
Concerns reportedly intensified late Sunday night after messages sent from his phone to a friend suggested that he had been “set up” by the lady inside a room in Teshie.
The messages reportedly included a photograph of the room and a live location. The friend became suspicious after noticing that the wording appeared inconsistent with Nana Yaw’s usual style of communication.
A further message was reportedly sent from his phone around 3:00 a.m., suggesting that he had been released. The earlier photograph and live location were subsequently deleted from the WhatsApp conversation.
The circumstances heightened concerns over Nana Yaw’s whereabouts, prompting efforts to locate him.
Investigators from the Ghana Police Service reportedly recovered his Honda Civic and arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
Subsequent searches in parts of Teshie reportedly led to the discovery of Nana Yaw’s remains.
In a statement released on Thursday, Nana Yaw’s family confirmed his death and expressed gratitude to individuals who supported the search effort and offered prayers.
The family has appealed for privacy as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his death.
