Veteran broadcaster Amoah Kwaku Alexander, popularly known as DJ Candyman, has received a GH¢7,000 donation from industry group Entertainment Resource to support his ongoing treatment for kidney-related complications. Media personality Afia Papabi presented the donation on behalf of the group.
Entertainment Resource is a WhatsApp-based network comprising mainly entertainment industry professionals, including DJs, presenters, journalists, social media influencers and critics, as well as other professionals outside the entertainment industry.
Speaking exclusively to The Observer Times, DJ Candyman thanked the group for the gesture and for standing by him during a difficult period.
“This support means more to me than I can put into words. At a time when I am going through a very difficult moment, knowing that people I have worked with and those who have followed my journey still care enough to stand by me is deeply touching. I am sincerely grateful to Entertainment Resource and everyone who contributed,” he said.
DJ Candyman’s broadcasting career spans nearly three decades, making him one of the more familiar voices in Ghanaian radio and entertainment.
Well-wishers who wish to support his recovery can send contributions via Mobile Money to 0244210076, registered in his name, Amoah Kwaku Alexander.
