GHS withdraws from vehicle hire‑purchase revitalisation to allow sector‑wide talks

By: Nana Ofori

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has withdrawn from the revitalisation of the vehicle hire‑purchase scheme to allow for broader, sector‑wide arrangements.

In a statement signed by Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Director‑General, the office referred to its letter No. GHS/DGS/G.2 dated July 16, 2026 on the subject.

The statement said that, further to the letter under reference, the Ministry of Health convened a wider stakeholders’ meeting, which included the Ghana Health Service, on July 30, 2026 regarding the revitalisation of the vehicle hire‑purchase scheme.

Accordingly, the GHS said its letter dated July 16, 2026 has been withdrawn with immediate effect to pave the way for broader sector‑wide arrangements.

The Service emphasised that this withdrawal does not affect the right of staff to engage Global Vehicle Sales and Leasing Limited to agree their own terms and conditions directly with the company.
