Interior Ministry restricts use of motorbikes in Binduri township

The Ministry of the Interior has restricted the use of motorbikes by individuals within Binduri township in the Upper East Region.

This order was announced in a statement issued by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, following an attack by unknown assailants on a military patrol team.

According to the Minister, the directive is aimed at maintaining law and order in response to the current security situation in the area.

Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak urged stakeholders in Binduri and its surrounding communities to maintain control, encouraging citizens to use the appropriate means to address grievances.

"Government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, the Youth, and all residents of Binduri and surrounding communities to exercise restraint and remain calm.

"Citizens are encouraged to use peaceful and lawful channels to address grievances and to support efforts to restore lasting peace," the Minister denounced.

He cautioned that any person who contravenes this directive will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of Interior also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
