Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey has categorically rejected two new rape allegations, increasing the number of complainants in the ongoing legal matter to four.
His principal lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, issued a short but firm statement on Thursday after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) made its announcement.
The additional charges follow a Metropolitan Police inquiry into a distinct report of alleged historical offences purported to have taken place in 2020.
"Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him," Wiltshire said. "He has cooperated with the police throughout. Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment."
The 32‑year‑old Ghanaian international is already due to face trial in November 2026 in relation to a separate matter. In that case he has entered a plea of not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three other women.
Those alleged incidents are reported to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, while he was a regular first‑team player for Arsenal.
The most recent accusations, first revealed in August 2025, bring the aggregate number of charges against the midfielder to eight. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13, 2026 to answer the two new counts.
Despite the growing legal difficulties, Partey remains active in professional football in La Liga. He signed for Villarreal on a free transfer in August 2025, a matter of weeks after his Arsenal contract ended and following the initial charges.
His bail terms remain stringent. To fulfil his playing obligations, he must notify the police at least 24 hours in advance of any international travel and is prohibited from contacting any of the complainants.
Thomas Partey, who is vice‑captain of the Black Stars, is still available for national team selection ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Having collected 54 caps and appeared at the 2022 tournament, his latest outing came in a World Cup qualifying match against Comoros in October 2025.
His deal with Villarreal is set to end on 30 June 2026, a few months before the trial scheduled at Southwark Crown Court.
