PSG win UEFA Champions League after dramatic penalty shootout

Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final after a tense match that finished 1-1 after extra time and ended 4-3 in PSG’s favour on penalties.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring for Arsenal in the first half, converting within six minutes when he found space in the penalty area and finished low past PSG’s goalkeeper.

PSG responded in the 65th minute when they were awarded a penalty; Ousmane Dembélé stepped up and converted from the spot to level the score at 1-1.

The remainder of normal time saw few clear-cut chances as both teams defended resolutely.

Extra time remained goalless, with both sides creating opportunities but neither able to find a decisive breakthrough.

The contest was settled in a nervy penalty shootout. PSG held their nerve to win 4-3, sealing the Champions League title and sparking jubilant celebrations among players and supporters.
