Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has engaged Ghanaian students at the University of Oxford during her recent visit.
She emphasized that young people play a vital role in shaping the future of the world in an increasingly interconnected space.

Speaking in an interactive and reflective session on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Vice President led discussions on leadership, education, and identity.
She urged students to think beyond their academic disciplines, stressing the need for curiosity and interdisciplinary engagement.
According to her, addressing today’s complex global challenges requires collaborative thinking, practical experience, and a balanced understanding of both local and international dynamics.
Mrs. Opoku-Agyemang also called for a critical reassessment of societal structures, particularly regarding women in leadership.
Highlighting Africa’s historical context, she noted that women have long held influential roles in leadership spaces, urging a deliberative assessment of cultural norms to determine what must be preserved, reformed, or discarded.
Touching on leadership values, Mrs. Opoku-Agyemang underscored the importance of empathy, urging students to uphold human dignity and remain responsive to the needs of vulnerable and underserved groups.
Regarding the diaspora's contribution, the Vice President noted that national development goes beyond financial remittances.
She highlighted that knowledge transfer, mentorship, innovation, and institutional support are critical to sustainable growth and progress.
