Seven (7) individuals has been confirmed dead following a fatal crash on the Atibie-Nkawnkaw road, prompting Ghana National Fire Service to the scene.
In a statement, the Fire Service said it received a call from Mr. Suraj Mohammed reporting a crash on the Atibie-Nkawkaw Road at 10:24pm on Monday, April 27, 2026
Prior to that a five rescue team led by Sub-Officer Afful, with LFM Dzaka as driver, was dispatched immediately and arrived at 10:35pm.
According to the GNFS, the team found a Hyundai Grace with registration GR-5660-18, reportedly suffered brake failure, veered off the road, and plunged into a valley.

The GNFS noted that seven occupants of the vehicle including six females and one male were confirmed dead at the scene, while rescue team retrieved the bodies and handed them over to the police.
The Service indicated that the remains were deposited at the Nkawkaw Roman Hospital morgue. The Personnel from Ghana Police Service, comprising DOII Lawluvi and Inspector Ampomah Richard were present at the scene.
