Minister of Sport and Recreation Kofi Iddie Adams has urged corporate Ghana to seize the opportunity by sponsoring the African Senior Athletics Championships Accra 2026.
These marks the country’s first time hosting the prestigious event since its current format.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Adams described the moment as a historic milestone for Ghana, urging corporate brands to seize the opportunity to elevate their visibility while contributing to the growth of sports in the country.
“It’s really a great opportunity and brands that want to elevate themselves this for me is a good opportunity to also identify with this competition,“ he emphasized.
Speaking in the lead-up to the competition, the Mr. Adams noted that the event has evolved significantly, describing its progress as having come “all the way to this level that African Senior Athletics competition Accra,2026 is few days always.”
He explained that investing in sports offers both social and financial returns stating that “once you support the growth of sports, you benefit indirectly. Whatever amount you spend gets deducted before your taxes are calculated.”
He further stressed the need for transparency in the process to ensure that corporate partners fully benefit from their contributions while helping to nurture the country’s future talent.
The Minister also welcomed the sponsor’s commitment to extend support beyond the Accra 2026 event and encouraged other corporate and international partners to come on board.
“Let me invite many more to come on board we have not shut the door, we have seen Hoshii International limited have shown you that the door is open they are in already.
“Come join them to elevate sports, especially athletics, and make Accra 2026 a great one,” the Minister called.
