The Adansi Movement of the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged the Member of Parliament (MP) for both Obuasi East and Obuasi West, Mr. Edward Ennin, to contest the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position ahead of the upcoming internal elections.
The call was made public during a press conference in Kumasi, led by Samuel Kofi Koduah, who spoke on behalf of party sympathisers and grassroots organisers.

According to the movement, the NPP is currently in a critical rebuilding phase following recent electoral challenges; however, the region needs a unifying, experienced figure to re-energise the base and confront the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) growing influence in Ashanti.
“NPP is rebuilding and we need someone like Mr. Edward Ennin to come and meet the NDC head-on. He has the track record, the respect, and the grassroots connection to lead us forward,” Mr. Koduah stated.
“He should come into the NPP party and contest for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship.”
Mr. Koduah highlighted Mr. Ennin’s service as MP for both Obuasi East and Obuasi West, describing his tenure as one marked by diligence, accessibility, and commitment to constituency development.

They argued that his experience in Parliament, combined with his understanding of the Ashanti political terrain, positions him as a candidate capable of bridging divides within the party.
“Mr. Ennin is not new to leadership. He has worked on the ground, understands the concerns of the ordinary party member, and has always delivered results,” he added.
