Hohoe Circuit Court jails man 7 years for defiling 12-year-old girl in Volta Region

The Volta North Regional Police Command has secured the conviction of Felix Agbodzi, aged 23, for defilement of a 12-year-old girl at Gbi-Akplamafu in the Volta Region.

According to the police statement, the incident came to light after the suspect lured the young victim to his home and subjected her to sexual abuse.

Mr. Agbodzi was arrested on Monday April 13, 2026, and arraigned the following a day before the Hohoe Circuit Court, under His Honour Lambert Yiringabaque Kariba.

The police reported that the suspect was charge with defilement under Section 101(2) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

The Volta North Police Command has urged the public to report any suspected cases of defilement or related crimes, assuring the them that perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
