Man allegedly kills Agric Extension officer over stolen phone at Boakyekrom

A suspected man, Moses, has allegedly murdered an Agricultural Extension officer in Boakyekrom, in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 20, 2026, and claimed the life of David, after David retrieved a stolen phone and returned it to the owner. Moses was alleged to have killed David over the stolen phone.

In an interview with the chief in the town, Nana Kwasi Owusu (I), he stated that David was an Agricultural Extension officer who was currently managing most of the commercial farms belonging to prominent individuals in the country, whose farmlands are located in the Afram Plains.

"David was an agric extension officer who is currently taking care of a lot of commercial farms which belong to prominent people in the country who have their farmlands in the Afram Plains," Nana said.

Nana Kwasi Owusu further added that David had requested an assistant from the owners of his farms, and Moses was assigned to him for about two weeks prior to the incident.

According to him, Moses, the assistant to the Agricultural Extension officer, stole someone’s phone, which David then retrieved and returned to the owner.

"The God fearing habit exhibited by David who was slaughtered made Moses to have negative mindset about his boss thereby slaughtering him dead and took to his heel."

At present, the police have taken the deceased’s body to the mortuary and have mounted a search for the alleged man, Moses.

David, who was slaughtered, is said to have been 28 years old. He was an Agricultural Extension officer who lived in Nkwanta.
