The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ekumfi constituency, Dr. Otheniel Ekow Kwainoo, has made a bold declaration that he will not be facing opposition in future elections.
The primary reason, according to Hon. Ekow Kwainoo, was the substantial contributions to the area's development.
He articulated a vision in which continued leadership is essential to eradicate unemployment, foster development, and alleviate poverty during a poignant 10-year anniversary commemoration for his late father, who was also a respected chief of Ekumfi Esarkyir in his speech.
The MP posits that the stagnation in Ekumfi has historically been a result of a single term in parliament, which is characterized by these persistent challenges.
"You have gathered here because you have a love for the MP, and the MP invited you in the same way that when the MP achieves a better position, all of you here will benefit."
"I am not here to engage in politics; rather, I am here to contribute to the development of Ekumfi. If Ekumfi is to progress, we require individuals who can remain in their seats for an extended period and gain recognition in the government," he stated.
He is of the firm conviction that his continuous participation in the legislative assembly is essential for the advancement of sustained progress, with a particular focus on infrastructure projects such as road construction.
He declared his conviction that his development agenda is the most compelling platform for the constituency, asserting that "no candidate will be able to beat me or even come to contest for the seat once the roads are built."
Hon. Kwainoo also stated the significance of unity within the constituency, emphasizing that it is a critical priority that will facilitate his developmental objectives.
In addition to reflecting on the past, the MP used the anniversary event to assert his future aspirations for Ekumfi.
