Ghana Gas clears air on contracts, reaffirms compliance

The Ghana National Gas Company has dismissed allegations of impropriety surrounding its recent procurement activities, insisting that all processes undertaken were lawful and in line with regulatory requirements.

In a press statement signed by Head of Corporate Affairs, Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, the company said the concerns raised in sections of the media largely stem from the recent change in its lead insurance provider, following the expiration of previous contracts at the end of last year.

According to management, the new insurance arrangements form part of an enhanced risk management strategy designed to better protect the company’s assets.

“The Company wishes to categorically assure the general public that no wrongdoing has occurred,” the statement emphasised.

Ghana Gas further noted that all contracts awarded have received the necessary approvals from the Public Procurement Authority after securing commitment authorisations from the Ministry of Finance.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, corporate governance, and compliance, adding that it remains focused on delivering gas efficiently to meet the country’s energy demands.

“As is standard practice for any robust organisation, the Company will continue to review and strengthen its internal processes where necessary,” the statement said.
