The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, will be statutory public holidays in observance of Easter.
In a statement issued on March 30, the Ministry confirmed that the dates correspond to Good Friday and Easter Monday and should be observed nationwide.
Signed by the Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the statement urged the public to comply with the directive and recognise the holidays across the country.
“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 3rd April 2026, and Monday, 6th April, mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively, which are Statutory Public Holidays and should be observed as such throughout the country,” the statement read.
