Prominent Ghanaian media personality and political activist, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, has expressed strong criticism of Ibrahim Mahama following his recent purchase of a private jet.
Mr Afrifa alleged a history of financial mismanagement linked to Ibrahim Mahama, particularly during President John Mahama's tenure in 2013.
Speaking on his For the Records show on Wednesday, March 4, he highlighted the collapse of the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) as a significant failure, suggesting that Ibrahim Mahama's financial dealings contributed to the bank's insolvency.
“He borrowed money from Universal Merchant Bank, and the Universal Merchant Bank at that time was insolvent which eventually led to Fortiz taking over the bank,” he disclosed.
Furthermore, he added that when President Mahama was leaving office in 2016, Ibrahim Mahama was in the process of building a company and sent three to four cheques to the bank, all of which were bounced due to insufficient funds to cover the payments.
