A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics has projected a comfortable victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Baba Jamal, in the Ayawaso East by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The survey, conducted between February 28 and March 1, sampled 972 voters across the Ayawaso East constituency.
According to the findings, Baba Jamal is leading with 75% of the projected votes, placing him far ahead of his main challenger, Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is polling 21%.
Independent candidate Umaru Sanda Muhammed, a former NDC member, is projected to secure 3% of the votes. The remaining candidates Ibrahim Iddrisu and David, are each expected to obtain less than 1%, the poll shows.
The by-election was necessitated by the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, who passed away in January while receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The poll outcome suggests a strong advantage for the NDC candidate as voters head to the polls on Tuesday.
