The Ministry of Health (MoH) has praised the swift, coordinated action of the Ghana Police Service, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and other essential partners, with particular recognition for the whistle‑blower, in response to the recent infant‑abduction episode at Mamprobi Polyclinic.
In a release from the Public Relations Unit dated Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh announced that he has instructed the Director‑General of the Ghana Health Service to implement rigorous round‑the‑clock security arrangements at all medical facilities across the country without delay.
It pointed out that, facility managers have been told to promptly reinforce internal safeguarding procedures.
The Minister reiterated the Government’s prior instruction that every health centre must fit and keep operational closed‑circuit television (CCTV) systems to strengthen protection.
The Ministry confirmed its dedication to protecting patients and upholding responsibility, and appealed to the public to stay composed while inquiries proceed.
