Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his determination to lead the party back to power in the 2028 general elections, pledging unwavering commitment and tireless effort to secure victory.

Dr Bawumia gave the assurance on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, when a delegation of party members visited him at his private residence to express confidence in his leadership and the future direction of the party.

Addressing the delegation, the former Vice President commended them for their show of support, describing it as a decisive moment for the party’s rebuilding process.

“You have saved the party by your action. The message is out there, and in 2028 they cannot use the same message against us. Rather, it will give us strength,” he said.

Dr Bawumia assured party faithful that their confidence in him would be reciprocated with total dedication.

“I want to assure you that because you have imposed your confidence in me, I will work at all times to ensure that we win power in 2028. I will not sleep. I will work day and night to ensure that I bring power back to the NPP,” he stated.

He stressed that unity within the party would be the deciding factor in the 2028 elections, noting that the NPP’s numerical strength gives it a strong advantage if members remain united.

“When you look at the data, we have more numbers than the NDC, so all we need is unity. In 2024, our members didn’t vote. If we are able to bring everybody on board, we can win,” Dr Bawumia noted.

Describing the current period as the start of a new phase in the party’s recovery, the NPP flagbearer urged supporters to remain active and committed to the collective effort.

“Our task is clear. We are now moving into phase two, and I want to appeal to all of you to assist us in this fight,” he added.
