The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta South Constituency in the Oti Region, Geoffrey Kini, has donated essential relief items to Mr. Niwogma Yakum, a 64-year-old disabled individual whose home was destroyed by fire.
The donation, which took place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, aimed to provide assistance to Mr. Yakum after a devastating fire ravaged his house, destroying several properties worth millions of Ghana cedis.
Hon. Geoffrey donated vital relief items, including mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, rubber bowls, bags of maize, iron sheets, and an undisclosed amount of money, to support Mr. Yakum and his family during this challenging time.
In his remarks, Hon. Geoffrey appealed to fire personnel to be proactive in delivering their service, stating, “The fire service should be ready to respond quickly and provide assistance in the event of a disaster.”
He added, “In case they need help, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) is available, and everyone is also there to assist, so that their efforts can continue effectively, especially now that disasters are occurring frequently.”
Mr. Yakum expressed his gratitude to the MP and appealed to well-meaning Ghanaians for support during this difficult time.
