The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, has urged students of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to dedicate themselves to academic excellence and disciplined living, describing early preparation as the bedrock of effective national leadership.

Speaking at a GIMPA Students’ Representative Council (SRC) event in Accra on Friday, September 25, 2026, the lawmaker reminded the youth that adulthood arrives sooner than anticipated, making their current academic commitment a defining factor in their ability to guide Ghana’s future successfully.

Hon. Jinapor stressed that the true value of their time at the institution lies in building a strong foundation of knowledge and character to handle future governance and public-service responsibilities.

“If you learn well today, you can become the country’s leaders tomorrow and lead the future well,” Jinapor stated, encouraging the students to remain grounded in their primary purpose on campus.

Reflecting on his personal journey, the Damongo MP shared that, during his youth, adulthood felt distant. However, through continuous effort, divine grace and the trust of Ghanaians, he and his peers were called upon to serve the country in key leadership positions sooner than expected.

He urged the students never to treat their current academic programmes as routine tasks, but rather as deliberate preparation to serve the nation effectively and achieve tangible results for Ghana’s development.

In his address, Hon. Jinapor charged the students to maintain unwavering focus, self-discipline and commitment to their studies so that they can emerge as impactful and transformative leaders for the country.
