The Complementary Education Agency (CEA), Awutu Senya East, has begun collaborating with the TERIA Foundation to establish a Complementary Basic Education Centre at the TERIA Foundation Centre in Anomawobi.
As part of activities marking My First Day at School on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, a team from the Complementary Education Agency visited the TERIA Foundation Centre to engage with the Foundation and familiarise themselves with the facility ahead of implementing the complementary basic education programme.
Present at the Centre was Walter Mawuli Gli, Founder of TERIA Foundation, who welcomed the CEA delegation and engaged with the team on the proposed collaboration and the importance of expanding access to education for children within the community.
The CEA delegation was led by Michael Asoah Adjei, Director, and included Matilda Owusuaa Ampadu, Secretary; Christian Kwaku Ayi, Deputy Programs Assistant; Mary Henebeng, Facilitator; and Deborah Nasara Yakubu, Facilitator.
The visit formed part of efforts to advance the establishment of the Complementary Basic Education Centre, which is expected to provide learning opportunities for children who are out of school and support their reintegration into the education system.
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, the collaboration between CEA and TERIA Foundation represents a shared commitment to promoting inclusive education, child development and community-based learning opportunities.
The proposed Centre will serve children in Anomawobi and surrounding communities, providing an accessible and supportive environment where children can acquire foundational knowledge and skills.
The initiative also complements TERIA Foundation's broader commitment to child development and community development. Through its work with children and communities, the Foundation continues to advocate for opportunities that enable children to learn, develop their talents, and achieve their potential.
The CEA team's visit on My First Day at School therefore marked an important step in strengthening the partnership between the two institutions and preparing the ground for the establishment of the Complementary Basic Education Centre.
Walter Mawuli Gli, Founder of TERIA Foundation, expressed the Foundation's readiness to work closely with the Complementary Education Agency to ensure that the initiative achieves its intended objectives and contributes meaningfully to improving educational opportunities for children in the community.
The partnership demonstrates that when government agencies, civil society organisations and communities work together, meaningful steps can be taken towards ensuring that every child has the opportunity to access education and build a brighter future.
TERIA Foundation looks forward to strengthening its collaboration with the Complementary Education Agency as preparations continue for the operationalization of the Centre at Anomawobi.
