Maame Afua Akoto’s HORECE donates 200 pairs of sandals to Asibirim DA Basic School

Hope Renewal Center (HORECE) has donated 200 pairs of sandals to pupils of Asibirim DA Basic School in Ghana’s Eastern Region to support child welfare and education.

The donation forms part of the non-governmental organisation’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of children and other vulnerable groups, particularly those facing challenges that could affect their education.

The footwear was presented by Ms Helena Asamoah on behalf of HORECE Founder, Maame Afua Akoto.

The initiative was aimed at supporting children who sometimes walk to school barefoot, providing them with basic footwear to attend classes with greater comfort and dignity.

The school’s Headmaster, Enoch Arthur, together with teachers and pupils, expressed appreciation to HORECE for the gesture and its support for the children.

Speaking on behalf of the pupils, KG 2 student Fiduas Mohammed thanked the organisation and offered praises and blessings to the donors for remembering the schoolchildren.

HORECE said the intervention was intended not only to meet an immediate need but also to draw attention to the different forms of support children require to reach their full potential.

Maame Afua Akoto and the HORECE directorate expressed hope that the initiative would encourage other organisations and individuals to identify and respond to the needs of children in their communities.

The organisation said even relatively small interventions can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and help create conditions that enable them to pursue their education and fulfil their potential.
