KUGISS 2001 Year Group Launches 25th Anniversary with GH¢2m Ultra Modern Kitchen Project

The 2001 year group of the Kumasi Girls Senior High School Old Girls Association (KUGISS) has officially launched activities to mark its 25th anniversary, unveiling an ultra modern kitchen project valued at over GH¢2 million.

The colourful launch ceremony, held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, was attended by the Headmistress of Kumasi Girls Senior High School, members of the 2001 year group popularly known as the Meritorious Queens, representatives of Ahemaa Global, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and students of the school.

Aberanteɛ Nana Ankoma Nyame (Arc. Dr. David Nyame Tawiah), Nkɔsoɔhene of Kyirapatre, and Aberanteɛ Yaw Owusu, President of the Kumasi High School 2002 Old Boys Association, were special guests at the event. Nana Ankoma Nyame served as Special Guest of Honour, while Yaw Owusu chaired proceedings as the Master of Ceremonies.

Speaking at the event, Nana Ankoma Nyame offered technical guidance on the anniversary project, drawing on his professional expertise to provide advice to the Ahemaa and the contractor responsible for the kitchen facility. Organisers said funding for the project has already been mobilised and secured.

The Ahemaa fraternity and school management expressed appreciation to the Mmeranteɛ group for their support and called for stronger collaboration in future initiatives.

The main anniversary celebration is scheduled to take place later this year.
