The Executive Director of Public Health Alliance International Ghana, Dr Samuel Nuamah, has urged Ghanaians to make personal health and routine medical check-ups a daily priority.

Speaking to the media during a free community health screening at Efua Sutherland Park on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Dr Nuamah emphasised that proactive care is essential for long‑term well‑being.

The outreach programme was organised specifically to provide ordinary citizens with access to basic diagnostic checks, including blood sugar testing and general health screenings.

Addressing the public at the venue, Dr Nuamah stressed the need for lifestyle adjustments and increased physical activity.

"It is time for the ordinary Ghanaian to prioritise their health," he stated, encouraging citizens to engage in regular exercise to keep their bodies resilient.

He drew a practical comparison between human health and vehicle maintenance to illustrate his point.

"The human body is like a car. When a car breaks down, you take it to a mechanic. Likewise, when your body is not feeling well, you must go to the hospital. When you have your health, you have life, and when you have life, you stay strong," Dr Nuamah said.

Dr Nuamah urged the public to take advantage of health awareness initiatives and undergo regular medical screenings, noting that early detection remains the best defence against preventable medical conditions.

He expressed his delight with the event, noting that this year’s screening was larger and more successful than the previous edition, and assured the public that the organisation will deliver even greater initiatives in the future.

Dr Nuamah also expressed satisfaction with the turnout, reiterating that this year’s programme was bigger and better than last year’s, and promising that Ghanaians can expect more from Public Health Alliance International Ghana.
