The Ministry of Health has announced the temporary closure of the Nursing Training College at Techiman Krobo in the Bono East Region following unrest and the breakdown of rules and regulations on campus.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, it announced that the closure follows a series of disturbances in the school.

"This decision has been taken following current unrest and break down of rules and regulations in the College," the ministry stated.

The statement noted that several efforts had been made to resolve the situation through dialogue, counselling, and engagements with key stakeholders, including the Regional Security Council.

However, some students reportedly continued to engage in conduct that undermined efforts to restore calm on campus.

“The temporary closure is intended to restore calm, protect lives and property, and allow appropriate authorities to assess the situation and determine the necessary steps toward reopening the College under conducive conditions,” the statement said.

The Ministry further directed all students to vacate the campus peacefully and return to their respective homes by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 urging parents and guardians to make the necessary arrangements for their wards.

While assuring stakeholders that efforts are underway to resolve the situation promptly, the Ministry stated that information regarding the reopening of the institution will be communicated through official channels in due course.

The Ministry of Health Training expressed appreciation to students, parents, staff, and the public for their understanding, cooperation, and support as authorities work to restore a safe and disciplined learning environment.
