The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Chairman hopeful, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has urged newly elected constituency executives to work tirelessly ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Addressing the executives during their swearing-in ceremony in Kumasi, Chairman Wontumi said the 2028 election will not be an easy task and will require strong, strategic forces to win.
“We have to face the 2028 general elections like a wounded lion. The task ahead is not easy,” he stated.
The Regional Chairman said he felt the “pain” of the party’s loss in the 2024 general elections, and urged the new constituency executives to make sound choices by electing competent regional executives who can lead the party to victory.
However, Chairman Wontumi appealed to the delegates to elect him as the next National Chairman of the NPP.
“Winning political power is not about speaking good English. It is about commitment, strategy and hard work and that is what I bring,” he said.
He further charged the newly elected constituency executives to commence grassroots mobilisation immediately in their various constituencies to help the NPP return to power in 2028.
