The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced an expedited programme to replace Ghanaian passports lost or damaged during this week’s devastating floods.
In a statement on Friday, July 3, 2026, the ministry extended its condolences to families who lost loved ones and expressed solidarity with compatriots affected by widespread destruction to property.
It acknowledged that many citizens may have either lost their passports or seen them ruined by the floods.
The ministry said it will implement a fast‑track replacement process from Friday, July 3, to Friday, July 17, 2026, to assist victims.
Affected persons are asked to call a dedicated line, 055 936 8563, and provide their name, date of birth and gender as shown in the lost or damaged passport, together with a contact phone number.
The ministry said it intends to replace all lost and damaged passports within a week of contact and reiterated its commitment to supporting government recovery efforts during this difficult period.
