Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced that the government plans to rename Kotoka International Airport as Accra International Airport.
He made the revelation while speaking to journalists ahead of the first sitting of the Second Session of the 9th Parliament.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the renaming forms part of broader efforts to reflect Ghana’s democratic values and national identity in public institutions.
“Government intends to rename Kotoka International Airport to Accra International Airport,” he said, adding that a bill would be presented to Parliament in accordance with established legal procedures.
He emphasized that such changes must be grounded in law and guided by the will of the people.
