Police probe shooting that injured former MP Adwoa Safo in Kwabenya

The Madina Divisional Command has commenced investigation in a shooting that injured former Member of Parliament for Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement signed by, Head of Public Affairs for the Greater Accra Region, Ms. Juliana Obeng, preliminary investigations show the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while Adwoa Safo was visiting her late father’s residence.

The statement said the former MP sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear and later reported the attack to the Kwabenya Police.

Ms. Adwoa Safo presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24 that had visible gunshot damage, the police added. She has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is receiving medical attention.

The vehicle has been retained for forensic examination as officers continue inquiries to establish the circumstances of the shooting and identify all persons involved.
