Police arrest suspect for inciting comments that threaten public peace

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect for making inciting comments that could jeopardise peace in Bawku and surrounding communities.

The suspect, Raphael Azare Kariyama, was apprehended through an intelligence-led operation designed to monitor and curb the spread of content that incites violence or threatens public order and national security.

According to the statement, the suspect is currently in police custody and will be brought before the court to face the full rigours of the law. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices.

The Ghana Police Service has urged the general public to refrain from making, publishing, or sharing inciteful comments, as such acts undermine peace and security.

This statement was issued on Saturday, January 31, by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer, Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
