Fire destroys shops at Makola Water Works

A fire outbreak has occurred at the Makola water works, right opposite the Central Police Station, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, where a devastating fire destroyed a shop.

Firefighters are at the scene working closely to contain the fire.

According to ADO 1 Alex King Nartey, an officer at the scene, described the situation as "very dire."

He also mentioned that one firefighter sustained injuries while combating the blaze.

Authorities are yet to confirm the cause of the inferno; however, there have not been any casualties reported
