The Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, has donated items to 133 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the district as part of the PWDs Common Fund allocated by the President of Ghana.
The items included deep freezers, agblema machines, fufu machines and cash, among other things.
In an interview, the MP said the NDC government is caring because the people's share of the national cake is distributed equally, as was done for the 133 PWDs in the district, which he contrasted with the previous government.
According to him, they consulted all the PWDs in the district about their preferred items so they could start businesses to support their daily lives and would therefore embrace the donations.
"PWDs, we met with them and asked their needs and their intentions, what they'll intend to do with those items that we did donated.
"From out interaction with them, they recommended what they want to do. So we purchased a number of cassava processing machine.
"And we also purchased some deep freezers and Ice chest for those who want to do frozen foods. And we also gave a couple them cash to support their businesses. Few of them who are in school needed money to pay their fees," he stated.
