GNFS rescues 11 after Logba Akutsame crash; motorbike rider dies

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) personnel at Kpando Municipal Fire Station, has responded to a road traffic crash at Logba Akutsame after receiving a distress call at 17:00 on Wednesday, May 28, 2026.

According to a report filed by the Public Relations Office of the GNFS, Volta Region, on Friday, May 29, 2026, the collision involved a Hyundai 14‑seater commercial vehicle (registration GL 118–13) and a motorbike.

Firefighters rescued eleven occupants who were trapped in the minibus during the emergency operation.

The motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was handed over to the Ghana Police Service for preservation and further investigation.

The Fire Service urged motorists to adhere strictly to road‑safety regulations and to exercise caution while driving to help reduce crashes and fatalities.
