Woman allegedly butchers husband to death over charcoal sales dispute in Ekumfi

A 40-year-old woman known as Auntie Esi has reportedly hacked her husband, Kweku Blankson, to death with a cutlass after a row over charcoal sales proceeds in Ekumfi Asaman, Central Region.

The couple, who farmed and sold locally produced charcoal, argued on Wednesday when Auntie Esi accused her husband of keeping a bigger share of the profits.

According to the eyewitnesses, the dispute grew violent, with Kweku allegedly assaulting his wife before tensions briefly subsided.

Later that night, as Kweku slept, Auntie Esi allegedly returned and inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on him.

He died at the scene before help arrived.

The police have been notified, and investigations are underway.
