Armed men pick Agona West NPP Organiser over 'Dumsor is Back' facebook post

Tension is mounting at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) camp in Ghana's Central Region after the alleged picking up of the Agona West Constituency Organiser by armed men.

A group of men, armed with pistols and AK-47 rifles and dressed in Rambo-style gear, stormed the organiser's residence in Agona Swedru approximately 30 minutes ago.

They forcibly took him away, with unconfirmed reports indicating they are heading to Accra.

Confirmation came directly from the NPP Central Regional Organiser, Mr Anthony Sackey.

He revealed that the arrest stems from a recent Facebook post by the organiser declaring, "Dumsor is Back," which appears to have provoked the swift party response.

Mr Sackey added that NPP members are now mobilising and organising themselves to travel to Accra this evening in response to the incident.
