The Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, has issued a stern warning to residents and traditional leaders in Dedesua, Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, against encroaching on land earmarked for the Green City Affordable Housing Project.
The project officially broke ground today with the commencement of construction.
Speaking on behalf of His Royal Majesty, the Asante Mampong Omanhene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, cautioned that anyone attempting to encroach on the land or stir disagreements over the project must desist immediately or reconsider.
He stressed that the land has been legally released to the government for the housing project and must not be claimed under the guise of family or community ownership.
He warned that anyone with issues should approach Manhyia rather than confront workers on the site.
Daasebre Osei Bonsu III urged traditional leaders, family heads, and Dedesua community members to respect the allocation and avoid actions that could derail the project.
He emphasised that the initiative aims to provide affordable housing and improve living conditions, and any interference would undermine this goal.
"His Excellency I'm convinced that, this Garden Project of yours, I presented to his Majesty offers a promising answer, the Green City Project present in unique opportunity to build not just houses.
"But a modern integrated community with growth, schools, healthcare facilities, Green parks, commercial centres and other essential infrastructure.
"Beyond that, this project has the potential to create 1000 of jobs for our young people being Engineers, Architects, Artisans, Masons, Carpenters, Electricians, Transport Operators and other supplies" he said.
