E/R: Nurse from Ofori Panin SHS found dead at Kukurantumi Junction

A nurse at Ofori Panin Senior High School in the Eastern Region, identified as Eddie Cann, has been found dead by the roadside at Akyem Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality.

The nurse was discovered lying motionless at the Kukurantumi Junction, opposite a washing bay, at dawn on Friday, May 8, 2026, around 2:00 a.m., with his motorbike beside him.

Police were dispatched to the scene, where they promptly conducted an inventory of the area before conveying the victim to hospital for emergency attention.

It remains unclear whether the deceased was knocked down by a vehicle while riding his motorbike or if foul play was involved.

Police have commenced investigations into the incident.
